"NO GUNS ALLOWED!" should be the intro slogan of Absolver,
the debut project by Sloclap. Well that's if the game was less serious. But even if it isn't, it still looks damn
good, judging from its recently released reveal trailer. In a world where
everyone's now into online first person shooters, this game sure does stand
out.
Absolver is an online multiplayer combat RPG that takes
place in the ruins of the fallen Adal Empire. You, the player, are placed
behind the mask of a Prospect under control of the Guides, the new rulers of
the fallen Adal Empire. The Guides brought you to this land to determine your
worth in joining their elite corps of Absolvers. You can explore the mysterious
world and encounter other Prospects like you. Along the way, you will learn new
combat styles, acquire weapons, gear and armor, and build a team of warriors with whom to fight side by side in Arenas of combat.
It's basically an online game focused on melee and martial arts. It features fluid real-time combat, where you execute attacks, dodges and parries in battle. You can go on one-on-one duels or three-on-three fights. You can also partake in PvP battles arenas where you fight to progress in the ranks of the Absolvers, and in PvE dungeons where you team up to hunt for rare loot in the Adal mines.
Absolver is the debut game of Sloclap, an independent studio founded by ex-Ubisoft Paris designers. These dudes previously worked on Watch Dogs and the Ghost Recon Series. They teamed up with publisher Devolver Digital to bring you this game.
But Absolver is slated for a release next year for the Playstation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC. It's still a long way to go so we'll just have to wait for more updates until then. Meanwhile, check out the awesome reveal trailer below.
