Battlefield is the multiplayer
franchise grown men play once they stop fooling around with Call of Duty. It focuses on proper
positioning and teamwork; not running around in a futuristic jetpack hoping to
kill the entire team using two clips of ammo. With Battlefield 1 outdoing their competitor last year with horses and
World War 1, both DICE and EA have decided to remind the world which series
can better simulate the deaths of countless soldiers.
Battlefield 1 Revolution includes the base game and all of the content provided by the season pass. Players will get immediate access to the They Shall Not Pass DLC, while the In the Name of Tsar, Turning Tides, and Apocalypse DLC packs will be available on September, December, and early 2018 respectively.
In addition to the new maps, equipment, and game modes in the season
pass, those who purchase the Revolution
edition will also unlock the Red Baron, Lawrence of Arabia, and Hellfighter
skin packs, which give certain weapons, vehicles, and emblems unique aesthetics based on their respective war veterans.
On another note, a new mode called "Incursions" will be playable in its alpha stage this September for those who sign up on the Battlefield website. "Incursions" is a five-on-five team-based mode that has players fighting in an enclosed space for the deed to the land.
But if you think that this will play out like normal team deathmatch, think again. Just like most of the franchise's game modes, this one includes vehicles which can be commandeered to turn the opposing team into a puff of red mist. Details on the mode are as vague as a teenager explaining to his parents where he was last night, but expect more information as the alpha releases.
Battlefield 1 Revolution is now available for purchase on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and for PC on Origin.
