Dell, most known for its business laptops and hardcore gaming Alienware products, has recently launched its new Inspiron 15 7000 gaming laptops locally.

Brand Manager Alvin Habaña shared last Tuesday that these gaming laptops are catered towards casual gamers who use their laptops for productivity (specifically editing videos and photos) but would still like to play games in their spare time. Dell claims this new gaming laptop line will perform admirably in both areas.

From this perspective, it's no surprise that their specs are decent but aren't quite the best in terms of gaming performance.

The 7566 has two variants: one with a 6th Gen i5 quad core processor and the other with a 6th Gen i7 quad core processor. For the graphics card, the Dell Inspiron 15 7000 uses NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M with 4GB GDDR5 memory. The hard drives can go up to 1 TB conventional or dual-drive M.2 128 GB + 1 TB HDD configurations. That's decent for gaming, but if you want to play games such as The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt or Rise of the Tomb Raider at their fullest extent, then it's better to go with a GTX 980M or higher combined with an 8GB memory.

The 15" displays on the laptops can range from HD (1366 x 768), FHD (1920 x 1080), to UHD (3840 x 2160) resolution. So if you plan on editing videos and playing games without the frame rate lags, then either of these laptops will do just fine.

The laptops' audio components include an onboard subwoofer to go with their tuned speakers and Waves MaxxAudio Pro processing. This means enhanced base tones for your listening pleasure (those Transformers movie trailers would also sound incredible on these things).

I would never recommend playing a graphics-heavy video game with the charger unplugged, but if you're the type to play Call of Duty on the go, then you'll be happy to know that the Inspiron 15 7000 has a deep-reserve battery (15: 74 WHr, 14: 56 WHr) that can keep you busy for at least 13 hours (if you use the i7 variant).

Appearance-wise, the laptops are definitely lookers. They come in Matte Black and Hibiscus Red, and you can even see that the rear cooling vents have an interesting geometric design. They even come with a 720p web camera at the front. The left side features a Kensington Lock Security Slot, a power port, a USB 3.0 port and a card reader. The right side, on the other hand, has an HDMI port, 2 more USB 3.0 ports, an Ethernet cable port, and a headphone jack.

The Inspiron 15 7000 gaming series are now available for purchase at Dell stores and authorized resellers, with a starting price of P49,990.
