Last Monday, the two main stars for Netflix series Santa Clarita Diet showed up at Manila's red carpet premiere for season 2. Drew Barrymore told event host Gelli Victor how overwhelmed she was at the warm welcome given to her by fans.
Drew Barrymore and Timothy Olyphant also shared that it wasn't their first visit to the PH. The former visited a few years ago on a branding trip for her makeup line Flower Beauty. Olyphant meanwhile, shared that as a kid, he once used to live in Davao because his father worked at Del Monte.
As a nod to the series where Drew Barrymore's character eats human flesh for a living, the two actors were given bloody sorbetes treats, which consist of eyeballs, teeth, and fingers.

Barrymore iterated that while Santa Clarita Diet deals with grotesque situations, the story still centers on the couple's relationship and family values, both of which are themes close to Filipino viewers' hearts. The series' second season will see Joel keen on finding a cure for Sheila's undead condition.
Santa Clarita Diet season 1 is already available for streaming on Netflix. Season 2 premieres this March 23.
