Welcome to Fan Art Sundaes: the weekend segment that will never catch up to your Sunday comics. Today, we talk about John "JC" Dimayuga, a 2D artist for a local game company, whose art style is more rooted in realism and semi-realism.

Most artists start out young, and JC is one of them. Back then, he would watch his brother draw sketches of superheroes and original characters of his own. This motivated JC to try drawing too; so during class, he would draw characters from Street Fighter.

JC looks up to artists such as John Grello, Marko Djurjevic, Borislav Mitkov, Hyoung Nam, Hugo Richard, and Fred Augis. Being a 2D artist, he also studies the design of movies such as Star Wars, The Lord of the Rings, and video games like Fire Emblem.

Speaking of Fire Emblem, that's his favorite fandom! He uses the series as an inspiration for an IP he's currently developing, so watch out for it soon. His other fandoms include Pokemon, Mortal Kombat, DC, and Marvel Comics.

Check out some of his works below and on Artstation and Instagram.
