Today's Sundae treat features another cool watercolor artist! Margaret Jeanin Marceline Lejarde, or simply "Marceline," is a 21-year old med student. Yep! Life in med school is definitely hard, but she always makes time for her art.
Marceline fell in love with art at a very young age. She would draw simple things up to her teenage years, where anime and manga would come to influence her heavily. Her college years proved to be challenging in terms of her art however, as they took away her free time to work on her craft, but she found her way back into it and eventually discovered watercolor.
When watercolor became a local trend, Marceline would browse through her Instagram for similar-looking art. Taking inspiration from the beautiful paintings of Anna Dittman, Agnes Cecile, and Joanna Wedrychowska, she has been creating watercolor illustrations and portraits since then.
People have described her art as soft and mystical but Marceline would sometimes go dark and edgy, with the outcome of her work reflecting her current mood.
Like all our fellow geeks, Marceline has a lot of fandoms. She grew up on anime and manga, but she totally digs Pirates of the Carribbean. Before she got into med school, she also played a lot of video games, with her favorite all-time game being Diablo. But with her hectic schedule nowadays, she manages to squeeze in a few rounds of League of Legends every now and then.
Her first watercolor fan art subjects were of Soraka (League of Legends) and Johnny Depp's Roux in Chocolat. Her other works consist of characters from My Neighbor Totoro, Game of Thrones, Ghost in the Shell , and more.If you want to see more, you can check out her Website, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and Society 6.
