Just a week after the launch of Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, Square Enix and Eidos-Montreal have announced details and a release date for the game's first story-based DLC. Titled "System Rift", this new content sees the return of Frank Pritchard, head of cyber-security at Sarif Industries and Adam Jensen's former colleague.
Adam joins Frank in uncovering information on the mysterious Santeau Group, a development and construction company that deals in large-scale urban projects. After the "Aug Incident" that drove mechanically augmented people (transhumans) to insanity, the Group built cities from scratch. These cities then served as places of refuge for the transhumans, which in turn separated them from society.
To get more information, Pritchard targets the Palisade
Blade, one of the most secure data banks ever created. Adam hopes that helping
his friend would lead him closer to discovering who the Illuminati are.Â
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is the long-awaited sequel to Deus Ex: Human Revolution and is the 6th game in the award-winning franchise. The series takes place in a cyberpunk-themed, dystopian future where humans meddle in transhumanism and factions popular to real-life conspirators (like the Illuminati) seek to control the world.
System Rift is included in Deus Ex: Mankind Divided's Season Pass and will be out on September 23, 2016 on Xbox Live, PlayStation Network and online stores.Â
