Do you like playing with balls? I'm sure you do.
meatballs, Dragon Balls; if it's round and spherical, chances are your sweaty
palms have come in contact with it. But you've never played with bug balls!
By rotating and repositioning them before they reach their heavenly destination, you can align similarly colored bugs in groups of four or more- setting them free to hide in the deepest, darkest corners of your device. It's a simple game that gives you a specific amount of time to rack up the highest score possible. What isn't simple though is the game's physics, which have the trapped critters rolling to the farthest reaches of the galaxy. It becomes a test of luck as you use that little prayer you save for when a pen is about to fall off a table and hope that the insects land in the places you want them to. To top it off, the speed at which these bugs ascend seems just a tad too fast for any sane person looking for a casual game to play.
But the game doesn't come without some help. For amidst these colorful yet misleading depictions of animals with disturbing amounts of legs come three special bubbles that can aid your extermination of these nasty pests.
With the void and prism bubbles, popping bugs of different and similar colors becomes a lot easier. Combined with the use of time bubbles, you can chain combinations and increase your time limit which would otherwise require the luck of a leprechaun and a detached foot of a rabbit.
Critter Pop! isn't a genre-defining video game by any stretch of the imagination, but if you're on the toilet doing your business or on the way home with some time to kill, this is a fine alternative to counting how many tiles away that cockroach is from pouncing on your vulnerable body.Ã
