Like, literally.
"Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime" is an arduous but fun-loving and deadly cute game that needs two people to play right.
You and your partner control a ship, navigating around obstacles, shooting the Anti-Love spacecrafts from a parallel loveless universe, and save bunny people. What makes this game so cool is how the ship is actually controlled. It's a platformer of sorts, where you control your characters inside the ship itself, climbing up and jumping down ladders, operating turrets, manning the ship, and everything else to ensure the survival of love.
You can control the ship to flee from a horde of enemies while your partner can control the laser turrets and the shield. There are a total of eight stations scattered throughout the ship and there are only the two of you. Things will escalate quickly.
It's a crazy game that needs a lot of cooperation between both players. Oh, it is possible to play this game alone. The game itself will make it harder than it is, with a not-so-reliable AI. And also, you know, it's kind of sad to play a two-player designed game alone.
Consider this game a test of friendship and love. It needs both players' maximum cooperation and teamwork to complete the game. It's already hard as it is for two people to operate a single spacecraft. Depending on who you play with, there will be good laughs, bad laughs, or a lot of screaming, controller-flinging, console-slash-desktop-smashing disaster.
It's also good to know that you're playing with someone you trust, someone who knows what he or she is doing. You can stir the ship from danger without dictating how to shoot incoming enemies. Likewise, some puzzles will require both players to initiate certain actions simultaneously.
The game is fun, intense in its moments during dangers. And at most, it's a game where you and your co-op will be running around back and forth to make sure everything runs according to plan. If all else fails, improvise in building the best possible scenario. Cause, come on, that's how love works even in real life, right?
