The trailers for Steven Spielberg's Ready Player One makes for a great game of spot the pop culture reference. While the first trailer provided a few references, this trailer showcased a whole lot more. Can you spot them all?



The first familiar character to appear in this trailer is Street Fighter's Ryu, followed by Back to The Future's DeLorean car, and other video game characters such as Lara Croft, Blanka, Tracer, and Chun-Li. There are also appearances from the Joker, Harley Quinn, King Kong, a giant Iron Giant and Gundam, as well as Chucky and the Boombox reference from the movie Say Anything. If you missed any of them, here are screenshots of their appearances.












The movie itself is based on Ernest Cline's sci-fi novel. Set in 2045 in a world on the brink of collapse, people find refuge in a virtual reality universe called Oasis, which created by James Halliday (Mark Rylance). Upon his death, Halliday announces that his fortune awaits the first person who finds an easter egg hidden somewhere in the Oasis. The story will follow Wade Wyatts (Tye Sheridan) as he decides to join this contest.

Ready Player One will premiere in theaters on March 30, 2018.
