Unless
you've had your eardrums surgically removed, you have probably heard of a
certain song that talks about a pen, an apple, and a pineapple. Yep, I'm
talking about the Pen-Pineapple-Apple-Pen song, or PPAP for short.
The
video, which was first posted last August 25, was made by Piko-Taro, a fictional
singer created by Japanese comedian Kosaka Daimaou. Since its upload, it has
gotten so popular that people have started uploading their own versions of the
song. Even pineapple-related brands have hopped on this fiber-rich bandwagon by
creating their own memes and commercials, because why not?
And no matter how stupid it is, you have to admit the song gives you a really bad case of last song syndrome.
Well,
the people behind Most Played Games couldn't get their minds off this
ridiculous song too, so they made a PPAP-inspired mobile game called Pen Apple Mania. Made in just one day,
the developers were thoughtful enough to include an actual pen and fruits that
we can see, instead of the high-budget invisible variants found in the viral video.
Pen Apple Mania lets you do the very thing
Piko-Taro does: whereby you smash an assortment of fruits with a pen as you
sexually exhale an "UGH!" Doing so successfully garners you points, but if you
miss one, you have to start back at zero. It's got a leaderboard feature as
well so if you don't mind tapping repetitively while listening to the
PPAP-inspired music, you can net yourself some bragging rights pretty easily.
But beating other players' scores isn't the only goal in this game. Keep sticking that pen into those apples and pineapples and soon you'll unlock more fruits! Soon you'll have a pen, you'll have a watermelon, you'll have an orange, and more.
Most Played Games is the developer behind Make Tuka Green Archer and Make Pana Blue Eagle. As with their other releases, Pen-Apple Mania was created to entertain. I'm not sure of the future of this game once the PPAP craze dies down, but until then, keep making those pineapple pens!
Pen Apple Mania is available for free at the Google Play Store and App Store.
