Team Skyville prevailed in the Philippine finals of amateur DOTA 2 tournament New Blood Championships (NBC) after an intense battle against Team BRZ. The victors took home the cash pool prize of $1,000.
The Pampanga-based team, composed of Angelo de Paula, Carlos Lachica, Chris Ian Francis Maldo, Josef Leonard, Julius Mendoza Galeon, and Matt Pangilinan (JG), will head on to the New Blood Championships Global Finals in Jakarta, Indonesia, which has a cash prize pool of $25,000.
The top 2 teams from the New Blood Championships will automatically be given slots in season 2 of the upcoming Galaxy Battles, allowing them a chance to compete with the big leagues like TNC Pro Team, OG, Newbee, and Infamous Gaming.
They will first have to battle the 2nd placed teams of Galaxy Battles' Europe and CIS regional qualifiers for a wild card slot at the main event. The prize at stake for this tournament is $1,000,000.
Galaxy Battles will be the first DOTA 2 Major of 2018. It will take place from January 19 to 21 at the Philippine Arena, Bulacan.
