Back in 2015, Thunder Lotus Games made a name for themselves with a little project called Jotun. Crowdfunded on Kickstarter, this little gem of a game was a wonderful trek into Norse mythology. Its unique hand-drawn art, epic boss battles, and magical story made it a memorable experience for many. If you haven't played this game yet, you can check it out on Steam.
Thunder Lotus Games is coming back in hopes of striking gold a second time. Sundered, the studio's sophomore game, takes
on a much darker tone in a narrative inspired by the writings of H.P.
Taking the role of Eshe, a wanderer in a ruined world, you find yourself trapped in ever-changing caverns teeming with all sorts of creepy crawlies. In order to survive gigantic bosses and hordes of enemies, you need to gain abilities from corrupted relics scattered throughout the world.
Building on the strengths of Jotun, Sundered features hand-drawn animation, massive boss fights and great immersion. To make it different from their first, the developers promise tons of replay value with nonlinear gameplay in a procedurally generated world and multiple endings.
The game will make its debut with a playable demo at TwitchCon 2016 this coming Sept. 30.
Sundered is slated for a 2017 release on Steam and the PlayStation 4.
