The ESports and Gaming Summit (ESGS) is returning this year with even bigger showcases for casual gamers, hardcore gamers, board game enthusiasts, and even game developers.
The big gaming brands from last year are once again going to grace the event. The PlayStation booth (which was the largest booth last year) will feature its most anticipated titles (like Call of Duty: WWII and NBA 2k18) and some other surprises. Ubisoft will showcase Assassin's Creed: Origins and Just Dance 2018, as well as host a series of game development activities. Capcom will also let fans try a demo of Monster Hunter World.
Meanwhile, Hi-Rez Studios, the studio behind Paladins and Smite, will make its debut at ESGS by hosting several demos and tournaments.
Not to be outdone by the international competition, local gaming companies are going to feature their main projects: Secret 6 with their FPS game Project Xandata, Indigo Entertainment with their mecha-fighting game Garrison: Archangel, and Ranida Games with their fighting game Bayani: Kanino Ka Kakampi?. Synergy 88 will also have their own booth to showcase their upcoming titles.
Those who prefer indie titles can loiter around the Indie Arena, where international indie developers will showcase their games. For local indie games, you can check out GDAP's GameFest station.
In case you were wondering, GameFest is an event within ESGS hosted by the Game Developers Association of the Philippines (GDAP). This promotes the academic side of game development, so expect booths from schools and game development partners in this area.
Over at the mobile games section, attendees will be able to enjoy demos, activities, and other updates for R2 Games' Heroes Evolved and Moonton's Mobile Legends. Mobile game tournaments will also be ongoing for the aforementioned titles.
Board game enthusiasts have something to look forward to as well, because gaming and hobby shop Ludus will take to the main stage to demonstrate Final Fantasy: The Card Game.
Many tech brands will also be present to showcase their gaming hardware and peripherals. Watch out for the booth of MSI, HyperX, Thermaltake, Predator, AOC, Philips, ASRock, Zotac and PowerColor.
The fighting game communities from Cosmic Gorgons, PlayBook, Secret Base, and PinoyPS, will once again come together at the ESGS for a Brawlfest mini-tournament. While it features various fighting games, the main highlight is Tekken 7. Whoever comes out on top of the Tekken 7 tournament will proceed to EVO 2018 in Japan, which is the biggest fighting game tournament in the world.
Lastly, there is going to be a gaming themed cosplay competition with big prizes on the line. Participants will have to bring their A-game to impress this panel of judges: tech influencer Kang Dupet, freelance event organizer Loki Heart, and World Cosplay Summit Philippines President Tessa. The cosplay competition will be handled by Anime Alliance Philippines and powered by Animax.
ESGS will be held at the SMX Convention Center next weekend from October 27-29, 2017. See you there!
